God Of Carnage (8:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
A comedy of manners, without the manners. Winner of London’s 2009 Oliver Award for Best New Comedy and the 2010 Tony Award for Best Play, this sparkling, raucous frolic will have you doubling over with laughter. When two little boys scuffle on the playground, their progressive parents meet to sort things out in a civilized manner. By evening’s end, all hope is lost. “an impeccably accessible comedy!”

Lord Of The Flies (8:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
A Richmond Premiere!
A part of the Minds Wide Open: Children in the Arts
A part of the Richmond Acts of Faith Festival

What are we? Humans? Or animals? Or savages?
A plane crashes on a deserted island—the only survivors, a group of schoolboys. Marooned and left to their own devices without adults or rules, their fragile sense of order begins to collapse. Read and analyzed by middle and high school students for decades, the book’s symbolism reveals much about human nature and raises the question, “How thin is the veneer of ‘civilization’?”

SONiA And Disappear Fear Return To GCCR (8:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
SONiA and disappear fear Return to GCCR

Sunday, February 19th | 8 pm | GCCR Event Hall | $12 in advance

GCCR welcomes SONiA and disappear fear back to Richmond. This is a rare appearance of SONiA and the band, including one of Richmond’s favorite drummers, Debbie Flood. Come support GCCR’s music program and hear a fantastic one of a kind artist and activist!

“There is only one SONiA and disappear fear … SONiA is a singer-songwriter, an activist, an artist. She writes in the styles of folk, blues, rock and country, of course that depends on what country; she sings in Spanish, Hebrew and Arabic as well as her native American English. SONiA is known as a protest singer though her songs are mostly about love and understanding. Her lyrics and melodies reflect her simple truth – when you disappear fear between people what you have is LOVE. Her songs are strong but not angry.”

SONiA and disappear fear have gained a devoted fan base in countries around the world — singing solo as a troubadour or with her 3 to 7 piece band backing her up. They have sold over 500,000 albums and continue to gain new fans every year as they perform at venues, festivals and theatres. Their powerful honesty touches the hearts and minds of people of many social and ethnic backgrounds, underpinned as they are by the belief that people are people and love is love. This is the essence of the disappear fear ideology. The disappear fear sound is a culmination of rhymes and rhythms from America and across the seas.

Sunday, February 19 at 8 pm in the GCCR Event Hall
Tickets: $12 in advance, $18 at the door. Available at Diversity Thrift and DT2 beginning January 4th.

Purchase tickets online here. Tickets purchased online include a $1 service fee.

Learn more about SONiA and disappear fear at their website.
